The Hot List : Foundation

So I am beginning a  'Hot List'  of my favourite products from each make up category ie; foundation, primer , lipstick. I have worked for numerous cosmetic companies and tried out so many products from different brands and have spent a lot of time choosing my favourites. Choosing the right foundation for you is an extremely important decision. I always recommend going in to a make up counter and asking one of the make up artists to try the foundation on you first, spend a day wearing it and then make your decision. Another option is to ask for a sample of the foundation you want to try and try it for a few days first. I have a few personal favourite foundations that have made it to my 'Hot List'   THE HOT LIST Buff HD foundation This is one of the nicest foundations I have come across in the past few years. It contains high levels of collagen which is great on older skin. Although it is a medium to full coverage foundation it doesnt look cakey or heavy on the skin, instead skin looks luminous and airbrushed. Another huge benefit of Buff HD Foundation is that it doesnt contain SPF so you don't get that horrible flash back in pictures. It is also water-resistant and non-transferable which is a huge bonus. There are 7 shades available to choose from so you should find it easy to find the right shade for you. You can buy Buff Make Up in Hessions in Drumcondra or Clontarf or online at Retail Price : €34 BUFF-by-Hessions-Hi-Def-Foundation-€341   Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation Naked Skin uses light-diffusing spheres to ‘blur’ imperfections for a luminous, demi-matte finish that feels invisible but looks professionally retouched. Naked Skin is oil-free, paraben-free, fragrance-free, and loaded with nourishing ingredients like antioxidant Green Tea and Sodium Hyaluronate for skin hydration so I would recommend this one especially for those of you with dry skin. It is a buildable foundation so you can choose what kind of coverage you want. There is also a choice of 18 shades which is a huge benefit. Retail Price : €34 urban-decay-naked-skin

Bare Minerals Ready Foundation I have worn Bare Minerals Foundation for the past 5 years and love it. I use this for my everyday foundation as I like how light it feels on my skin. I was so happy to discover their 'Ready Foundation' which is a compact version of their original mineral foundation. It has an SPF 20 and is available in 2o shades. It is a medium to full coverage foundation but looks extremely natural on the skin. People are often put off by Bare Minerals as it looks like a powder but it actually diminishes the appearance of lines and wrinkles and hydrates the skin. The best thing about Bare Minerals is that it is formulated without binders, fillers and hard chemicals so is kind to your skin. Retail price: €28
BareMineralsFoundation     Mac Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation MAC have a huge range of foundations to choose from but my favourite one would have to be MAC Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation. What I like about this is that it is a gel based formula which feels much lighter on the skin then a cream. It is particularly good for dry skin and mature skin as it is extremely hydrating and revitalizes the appearance of dull skin. It is a buildable foundation that is easy to blend and has an SPF 15.
