IFTA Hollywood Glamour Masterclass with MAC Senior Artist Lesley Keane
I was lucky enough to be invited to the IFTA Hollywood Glamour masterclass with Lesley Keane from MAC. There was a lot of talent in the room with Roxanne Parker in charge of styling, Michael Leong on hair and of course the amazing Lesley Keane creating some beautiful make up looks. The event was facilitated by Xposé’s Karen Koster who discussed with Lesley how makeup practices have evolved through film and how it has shaped the fashion and trends of today. Lesley started the event with a talk on how Hollywood film stars in the past have shaped the fashion and make up trends of today. There were two looks demonstrated on the stunning models Teodora Sutra (1st Options Models) and Sarah Tansey ( Morgan The Agency). Lesley Started with a look inspired by Marilyn Monroe Lesley wanted the focus to be on the lips so used a favourite red of hers and mine MAC 'Russian Red'. She mentioned how much she loves MAC Mineralise Moisture SPF15 Foundation and thats what she used on the gorgeous Teodora. Unusually Lesley opted for an icy blue colour on the lid, I would have never chosen this myself and couldn't believe how amazing it looked, It was MAC 'Clearwater' paintpot and I will definitely be adding this to my shopping list. Lesley had the skin prepped using MAC Mineralize charged water moisture gel and MAC Mineralize charged water moisture eye cream. It is so important to prep your skin to ensure you have a perfect base to start with. For a more current take on Hollywood Glamour Lesley demonstrated a gorgeous look inspired by the beautiful Angelina Jolie for her second look. This is a look that I really love and probably would wear a lot myself. Again Sarahs skin was prepped and MAC #36 lashes were applied. These lashes gradually get longer so the outer edge of the eye is given the gorgeous feline flick that Angelina is famous for. MAC 'Groundwork' was applied to the eyelid first, this is a must have product as it acts a base but also gives a gorgeous warm caramel colour to the eyelid which flatters all eye colours and skin tones. Lesley used MAC 'Stone' lipliner and MAC 'Fresh Brew' lipstick, and also informed us that these are favourites of Angelinas. Michael Leong styled the models hair perfectly as always and Roxanne styled the looks to a tee. Karen interviewed them both and they talked us through their looks. Lesley Keane has been working in the industry for over 16 years and has made up the faces of so many top celebrities from Britney Spears, Cat Deely to Supermodel Agyness Deyn. She has worked on London Fashion week and worked on catwalk shows for Matthew Williamson and Julien MacDonald and of course the IFTAS. I really enjoyed this event and genuinely learnt so much from watching Lesley at work.
